Café Arte

Carrera 3 No. 13-41
La Candelaria
I’ve not eaten here but it looks very cool inside – a large covered courtyard houses the main eating area on both ground floor and balconies, a separate café area offers a less formal setting for a quick snack.

Set meals from 7,000 COP
Usually at least 2 set meals – 3 courses and juice. Also sell vegetarian sausages, burgers and tofu. The food is tasty filling and varies on a daily basis. . Service is fine, nothing special about the atmosphere – more functional that anything else. For a more homely ambience go to Quinua y Amaranto, about 7 blocks away

El Chorro de Quevedo
by Alex on Jan.11, 2010, under What to do in Bogotá
Colonial plaza
Calle 13 with Carrera 2a
A picturesque colonial square surrounded by restaurants and often the setting for street performances. Callejón del Embudo – funnel alley, that runs north from the square (Carrera 2 on the map), is home to many chicha bars, a corn-based beverage that must be tried as part of your visit to Colombia – don’t drink too much, it’s said to give quite the hangover!

A lovely eatery spread over 3 floors on a pretty square with fountain. There is an open fire on the first floor and live music on Saturdays on the 2nd floor. The home-made deserts are very very good – I often go here for desert after having eaten at home. Their deserts can be also bought to take away from a shop at the side of the restaurant.
